⇒ yesterday's run

brrr...blistering kind of cold yesterday. Ran anyways because I guessed (correctly) that gym girl would be there (y-yae!)

Didn't do well tho, too many ppl cramping my style--and long ass wait for biotch-jackass to do barbell reps not on the bench press bench.

Anyway, tried to go hard (gym girl might be watching!) and managed 2km in 13', onto 2.99km in 20'. Pretty good, but still not good enough.

I got what, 4 goes left?

⇒ swimmin

gymmed yesterday. overall disappointed with performance. but i did manage to bench 60 a couple of times. that's among the handful of other times i've ever done it. nice...swim felt good...poor performance, but the water felt cool, not cold.

⇒ don't wanna blog!

haven't been bothered to blog proper lately...can't be bothered now, but i'll try summarize as many events as possible:

yesterday went gym ~230KCAL consumed. Treadmill below par (15' mile), bike--much better, 10' for ~6km. Chest and shoulder focus. swim was icy.

haven't been eating right or feeling right. was sick for ~2 days in middle of week. the dehydration carried over to gym performance. also, experiencing dry skin sensation around left eye. coupled with gym sweat and wiping = human sandpaper and very sore eyesocket.

planning more gundam purchases...waiting for the aussie dollar to hit the right mark. haven't done any uni work lately. uni sucks balls. nothing left that interests me. work will cease on oct 18. start looking for new job to start in dec soon.

⇒ Discipline

this is the element which has been eluding me for the last few months. My aimlessness and squandering/lack of perseverance were due to my lack of discipline. I have to teach myself to be strong again. I do undoubtedly believe that uni is tying me down, rather than lifting me up (I should have seen the signs--6 years of suppression!).

Change is a curious thing. Months ago, in my mind, change was instantaneous--just drop what you're doing and take a new course. But the dynamics and inner mechanics have been revealed to me. I can't just burn my bridges and references--consider all the effort and time I put into building my professional reputation. Change has to go through diplomatic and bureaucratic channels. A situation must be presented in which everyone appears to win. That is the only outcome which can be accepted.

ALSO: Today, I had my shots today...3 i think...I got tablets to take and noxious liquids to drink at scheduled intervals...

anyhoo, I'll be pretty immunised, come november...

Bruce Lee's training regimen at 24 (unconfirmed):
The weight training program that Lee used during a stay in Hong Kong in 1965 at only 24 years old placed heavy emphasis on his arms.
-Bicep curls at a weight of 70 to 80 lbs for three sets of eight repetitions, along with other forms of exercises, such as squats, push-ups, reverse curls, concentration curls, French presses, and both wrist curls and reverse wrist curls--6 to 12 reps (at the time) This method of training targeted his fast and slow twitch muscles

Lee believed that the abdominal muscles were one of the most important muscle groups for a martial artist, since virtually every movement requires some degree of abdominal work. Perhaps more importantly, the "abs" are like a shell, protecting the ribs and vital organs.

He trained from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., including stomach, flexibility, and running, and from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. he would weight train and cycle. A typical exercise for Lee would be to run a distance of two to six miles in 15 to 45 minutes, in which he would vary speed in 3-5 minute intervals. Lee would then ride his stationary bicycle for 30-45 minutes at full speed immediately after running. Next, Lee would do some skipping rope for 800 jumps non-stop.
