⇒ blast from the past!

the 80s...back to the future...huey lewis...atari...the memories come rushing back real fast and you suddenly remember how gi-normous everything was before everything went micro. engadget's reminder of the larger than life 80s fills my head with synth riffs and bad haircuts.

good times...

hey lookey this:

i guess 'big' is in again...

i seem to keep coming back to engadget and its sister site joystiq...what can i say, interesting content, frequent updates and a slice of dry wit here and there keep me coming back for more.

here's a headline or two to waste time with: gates' no-no, console size comparison, wii compared to LOTS of stuff...more later.

uh-oh, oh oh oh oh, uh-oh, oh oh oh oh, if da party's where you're at lemme hear ya say...

⇒ to do!

biennale

photography quiz (worth 10%)
speech assignment (5 mins)

finish infodemo tute AND RESEARCH!
bring the materials for the research presentation.

studio prototype, brief and concept:
the project goals sound more like functional descriptions.
What do you intend to
achieve as a result of the existence of this project?

Think of this in terms
of business goals, for example. What might
be the business case for this
project? Please re-do your goals.
Your user needs also must be re-done. If you
recall, in Lecture and
the notes, I specify that the needs must be written
from the
perspective of what the user wants, not what the product should
do. What the product should do is driven by user needs, not the other way
around.

...so here we go again down that same road again, when i see you it's like my world just started caving in, sometimes i wish it would rain, so you wouldn't have to see my pain...

⇒ you don't know the truth

watched Renaissance today. it was ok. There was 1 pretty good chase scene but otherwise not that groundbreaking. Overall i can't see the justification behind it's black and white animated style. It didn't affect the overall narrative or create any new twists--just for visual marvel I guess.

I personally got lost momentarily whenever the scene cut to the next. The problem was that most of the characters bear too much resemblence to each other and I couldn't figure out who I'm looking at.

I'm guessing the visuals were done with a modified form of cel-shading + mocap + special color behaviours.

I felt it was my duty as a B.Des.Comp. student to view this for its visual offerings anyways. I will be seeing a scanner darkly
