⇒ royale

(break: w4d1-->days on break: 28)
just saw Casino Royale yesterday. Great movie. Not just a great Bond movie, but great movie in general. Some very interesting scenes and intense action as well. Some very memorable moments which stand out as well as the very cool title sequence. My biggest gripe with the movie is the excessive product placement by Sony. I mean at least keep it subtle. I know that Sony now owns MGM which owns the Bond franchise but was it really necessary to make that Vaio laptop mug for the camera everytime a computer is needed? Or that Cybershot? Or that Blu-Ray disc and player? COME ON!??!?! What the feck is this? I, Robot?!?! (don't get me started on that steaming turd burger of product placement dementia which has besmirched Asimov's name--Alex Proyas, how could you!?!? I'll just say this: read the book, it bashes the movie's stupid head in). I let them get away with Sony phones because they're mostly pretty good (k750i, in my experience). When did Sony become the nipponese hardware equivalent of Micro$h!t? I'm still mega pissed off they stole spidey's font face for the ps3. wtf?!? They're very lucky they managed to get the Marvel contract and Sam Raimi onboard. enough ranting time for the usual content and listings: what have i been up to? golf, gym, swim, squash, jobbin, watched Kenny (it's grrrrrrr-reat! congrats to Shane Jacobson on winning best actor AFI, beating Heath Ledger and other peers; should've gotten best picture too), and so on...

cop a gander at this, i'm getting jacked cause i bought a dvd 'too soon' again. what bullshit. if your going to release a dvd, do it right the first time and stop wasting our time with half-assed releases. I mean come on, you've had about 20 years to work on it, right? other examples of this greedy release-a-shit-edition-then-wait-some-months-then-release-a-good-edition-by-comparison-for-the-same-price offenders: Star Wars (the original trilogy in its unmangled form), Kill Bill vol.1 & 2, Sin City and Lord of the Rings. I haven't been burned by anything else as of yet.

take a look at this. What if George Lucas were to 'remaster' Singing in the Rain? this is what happens | watercooling your laptop. homebrew style |
