fun times with mario:

PS3 motion control thoughts: impressive tech demo but until I see it on shelf with supported software, i'll disbelieve. The 1 to 1 tracking and response rate were good tho. Now, mimicking the hardware interface design of the Wii's pretty much acknowledges that motion control with a dual shock 3/sixaxis is rubbish (cause it is)! Sony and Microsoft got very lucky that they made their systems so powerful and upgradeable (system updates) from the get go that they didn't have to release an entirely new SKU to get in on the motion control action.

i love this time of the year: E3 and Tennis tournaments (French Open, Queen's Club, Wimbledon). The crappy Sydney winter chill is an even better excuse to stay indoors.

why Project Natal fails:
"People in the casual market like feeling something physical to keep your hands aligned," he said. "When you grab the Wiimote and swing it, it feels like you're swinging a baseball bat, versus pantomining swinging a bat. I think that if you take all [the controllers] away and you're just pantomiming everything, there may be some disconnect with realism there."
-Chris Arbogast, Nyko's director of marketing
