⇒ Apple Pandemonium!
Apple's flagship Sydney store launched today. At 5pm the doors opened and rabid Apple-ites went crazy and made alot of noise. Alot of 'whooping', 'woo-hoo', 'yeah!', etc...I was there...lined up for almost an hour to get in but I got me a t-shirt indicating that I was amongst the first 2500 yups/marketed-to to enter the new store.
The line wrapped itself around pretty much the entire block on which the Apple store is situated. In length terms, I guess that's about 3.5 blocks, which is unheard of in Sydney.
It's amazing how nutty people got during the event. It's not like Apple actually gave anything substantial away. The t-shirts came in a slick white Apple box, which led some to falsely believe an iProduct was inside (sadly not).
On the upside, staff were friendly (and in a very 'high-five' kind of mood), some free nudies (health drinks) were passed along and courtesy umbrellas, for when the rain started (you don't get to keep them). Anyhoo, here are some camera phone pics. Can't be bothered to upload the rest...maybe later.
That Apple logo is enormous! It looks like it weighs as much as a small car. I guess it's supposed to be intimidating and make competitors feel small and vulnerable. Good job. ♥♣♦♠

⇒ Stan Winston 1946-2008
RIP the great one.
->Aliens, Terminator 2, Jurassic Park, Predator, Edward Scissorhands, Batman Returns, Iron Man...the list goes on...
In a statement released on Monday, Terminator star and California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger called Winston a "genius" and "one of my best friends".
The action man-turned-politician added, "Stan's work and four Oscars speak for themselves and will live on forever. What will live forever in my heart is the way that Stan loved everyone and treated each of his friends like they were family... I will miss him greatly and am honoured to have worked with him."

♥♣♦♠⇒ bad to worse
terrible day started at 11pm last nite and only got worse.
List of the bad to worse:
-I couldn't get back to sleep until 3am.
-still can't find that black shirt in spite of turning the room inside out
-frustration at the lack of living space
-frustration at the current petrol/housing crisis! WTF?!?!??
-frustration at work--personnel restructuring and the excitement die-ing down.
-wake up about 630am.
-run for the train and still miss it. sh!t!
-trudging to and from work
-cold, windy, miserable weather.
-overall headache and drowsiness today.
-annoying 16' mobile phone call!
-arriving home late.
for the record, I've scalped PwC, IBM AND QBE now! I passed all their tests and progressed through all the rounds. Ha! in yo face, world! Before, you didn't want me, now what's up!?!??!
In tennis news, Rafa wins Queens club, a grasscourt tourney. This brings his bad-ass-ness to an all new level. He already scares Federer real good but now he's won a tournament on Federer's turf! He beat Djokovic to do it too...up 9-3!
