(break: w9d7-->days on break: 70)

went to gym and swim. didn't stay too long. Higher intensity than most days so that I could trim down the time. I think that's the way to go now. Push my limits and don't waste time. Did more reps than heavy loads. Did 2.48km in 20' which is an improvement but far from personal best. It's my personal best in about 10 months. Managed 120lbs on vertical chest press. not bad. My knee is sore-ish so I stayed away from too much cardio.

Federer downed Youznhy in 3, Roddick downed Safin in 4 very close sets, great match to watch. I would've liked to have seen another Safin-Federer shodown, esp. since Safin is defending his 2005 Aus Open title (he didn't play 2006's, which Federer won) so that would've been two defending champions squaring off. But no. Roddick better make the final/play Federer now that he's beat Safin.

I finally picked up a hardcover, 10th Anniversary edition print of Marvels by Alex Ross. Now all I need is the humongous hardcovers by him. I'll go out or something tomorrow and get to some golf lovin soon enough.

btw, posting at midnite again in case you forgot.

⇒ gym and pizza = yuk!

(break: w9d6-->days on break: 69)

Iron Man development pic above. Stan Winston is handling the effects apparently (yessh!). If only the George Romero/Tom Savini combo handled Resident Evil movies.

scary terminator looking learning robot.

went gymmin and swimmin. Must allow 24 hours or more to pass before engaging in rigorous exercise if I've had pizza. Felt terrible, especially on the treadmill. That damn cheesy, greasy, meatball goodness mixed with Cola killed me. Did a bit of weights, a bit of treadmill, got ~2.2km in 20'.

I'll change it up tomorrow for sure (and stay away from pizza). I guess I'll row or something.

⇒ tues 16th january ed.

(break: w9d5-->days on break: 68)
i'm posting this at midnite so that explains that date kerfuffle.

went to gym and swim. didn't feel like spending alot of time on cardio so went 20' on bike and 20' on treadmill. Got ~9km on bike, ~2km on treadmill (mostly walking). As usual, cooled off in pool afterwards.

Watched some tennis. Not much excitement yet, it's only day 2.

Jim Brickman. He does great piano music. | 500 greatest songs of all time (as of 2004, according to Rolling Stone). | Rolling Stone's list of 500 albums in the same vein | Legend of Zelda clips | Luxeed's color-programmable keyboard. Great idea, just keep it affordable (I'm lookin in your direction, Optimus!) | Sharp's 4096x2048 px 62" behemoth. Apparently it's like 'looking out the window' instead of sitting in front of a monitor. Bring it | top 10 video gaming no-nos of 2006. read it. I chuckled, especially about the Wiimote injury bit. Reporting it in the news was some heinous sh!t. | 8 year-old Guitar Hero. By that, I mean he's 8 years-old and rlly good at Guitar Hero 2 |

listening to: Michael Sembello's Maniac, New Order's 60 miles an hour, T-Pain's In love with a stripper remix featuring Mike Jones

will alter training program tomorrow, more emphasis on strength and reps, rather than cardio.

⇒ zombie/computer

(break: w9d4-->days on break: 67)

Apple Science: Inside the Image | Penny Arcade take the Zune down (another) notch. I love those guys. |

Zombies! I salute thee! I'm down with most-things zombie. George Romero, Resident Evil (the games, not the Godawful movies), ... of the Dead, 28 ... later, Slither, and all that jazz...Dawn of the Dead (1978) imdb listing. THE mind-blowing original | Dawn of the Dead (2004) imdb listing. Check it out, it's pretty good. wiki entry | Tom Savini. He's great in From Dusk til Dawn | Zack Snyder did good on his first go. Edgar Wright went one better. British humor and zombies. A winning combination--Shaun of the Dead |
Actually, I dig most horror movies now. I used shat my pants whenever they were on but now I get a big kick out of watching horror (good horror, not that Hostel sh!t).

NAS' Illmatic wiki entry. listen to it | Iron Butterfly's In-a-gadda-da-vida | Greek cuisine |

Intel Core 2 | Comparison of Intel processors | Multi-core computing | SLI | ATI crossfire | NVIDIA Quadro | NVIDIA Quadro Plex | Dell's Quad SLI. Crazy | Radeon R600 | Wii. Already sold a million | ATI FireGL | Pentium D | Overclocking a Dual-Core to 4.1Ghz and getting stable performance. Here | Itanium 2 | Xeon | Netburst | MAC Leopard. I eagerly await | Supercomputer | IBM POWER | Hybrid Kernel | Embarrassingly parallel |

Australian Open started today (hell yeah!). Here's a pic of young Federer (ha-ha!)

read the article. Interesting, Federer first clashed with Hewitt at 15 and had a big losing streak before his ascension |

Galatea: the statue brought to life by the gods in the Pygmalion myth

Wheels on Meals (1984). I love this movie. Sammo's double sword action kills Attack of the clones, while JC shows off his fighting and acrobatic talents again. The movie's also frickin hilarious with cameos/support from Lola Forner (Miss Spain '79), Richard Ng, John Shum, Benny 'the jet' Urquidez and Keith Vitali. The final battle goes right up there with Project A, Dragons Forever, Young Master, Drunken Master, Armor of God and City Hunter. JC back in his prime was King of the mountain. When you ignore the silliness/comedic elements of his work, you realize he kicked serious ass! The scene in the middle of Legend of Drunken Master, add that to the list.

to cap off this post, here's a pic of my lone wolf collection, all in near-mint condition (and that's the way I likes them!)
