⇒ tetris my world!
(break: w11d3-->days on break: 80)

Australia day this year was extra patriotic. I think it may have been the recent 'un-Australian' remarks made by a certain Muslim cleric or the even more recent banning of flag from big day out. Personally, I slept through it because I stayed up watching the Descent, which rocked my world. It's really pretty awesome the first time through. And reading an analysis opened up another plausible interpretation of the film. I highly recommend it. Still enjoyable on repeat viewings but nowhere near as good as the first time in pitch dark, absolute isolation and no ambient noise.
Federer vs. Gonazales tonite. Difficult to call. Federer has won all their previous encounters but Gonzales has never played like this. I'm still betting on Federer tho, just how close the victory margin will be is unclear.
LED lightbulbs. They use LEDs in my phone's night light. It's very small, light, compact, directional and quite bright. | Optimus Prime/Convoy and Megatron as 6-inch scale replica Nike free 7.0s!!! Crazy thing is, these guys are wearing miniature Nikes too!

⇒ the asimo incident
(break: w4d6-->days on break: 34)
what have i been upto? ate a tonne of junk food (Mickey D's, KFC, ice cream, nachos, cheese, soft drink, etc.) and hardly worked out/went out. Splurged a bit on DVDs. 'Tis the season, after all...picked up complete Dilbert, and way of the dragon, Bruce's big shodown wif Chuck Norris. My sister just departed for Vietnam for a working-study-holiday. Have fun, Linh!
Honda's asimo takes a tumble as it tries to show off its stairclimbing chops. Feckin' funny, yet strangely familiar | independant games festival | Alex Ross' website. my favorite living contemporary painter. | wii injuries. injuries | better to be a lefty. btw, Jackie Chan made a donation to ANU's medical centre, where my sister studies. | first wii arcade stick here here (ebay) here and here. | more USB controlled awesomeness | introducing 'phase-change' memory | iRiver's s7. interesting alternative to the iPod shuffle. gives us the choat | WiiSaber. a mac. a wii. and star wars. | 10 gadgets that changed the world. personally, I agree with almost the entire list. |

awesome laser etched goodness | megatron blueprint. holy cow. this whole time i had no idea that he was a Walther p38 |

⇒ royale
(break: w4d1-->days on break: 28)
just saw Casino Royale yesterday. Great movie. Not just a great Bond movie, but great movie in general. Some very interesting scenes and intense action as well. Some very memorable moments which stand out as well as the very cool title sequence. My biggest gripe with the movie is the excessive product placement by Sony. I mean at least keep it subtle. I know that Sony now owns MGM which owns the Bond franchise but was it really necessary to make that Vaio laptop mug for the camera everytime a computer is needed? Or that Cybershot? Or that Blu-Ray disc and player? COME ON!??!?! What the feck is this? I, Robot?!?! (don't get me started on that steaming turd burger of product placement dementia which has besmirched Asimov's name--Alex Proyas, how could you!?!? I'll just say this: read the book, it bashes the movie's stupid head in). I let them get away with Sony phones because they're mostly pretty good (k750i, in my experience). When did Sony become the nipponese hardware equivalent of Micro$h!t? I'm still mega pissed off they stole spidey's font face for the ps3. wtf?!? They're very lucky they managed to get the Marvel contract and Sam Raimi onboard. enough ranting time for the usual content and listings: what have i been up to? golf, gym, swim, squash, jobbin, watched Kenny (it's grrrrrrr-reat! congrats to Shane Jacobson on winning best actor AFI, beating Heath Ledger and other peers; should've gotten best picture too), and so on...

cop a gander at this, i'm getting jacked cause i bought a dvd 'too soon' again. what bullshit. if your going to release a dvd, do it right the first time and stop wasting our time with half-assed releases. I mean come on, you've had about 20 years to work on it, right? other examples of this greedy release-a-shit-edition-then-wait-some-months-then-release-a-good-edition-by-comparison-for-the-same-price offenders: Star Wars (the original trilogy in its unmangled form), Kill Bill vol.1 & 2, Sin City and Lord of the Rings. I haven't been burned by anything else as of yet.
take a look at this. What if George Lucas were to 'remaster' Singing in the Rain? this is what happens | watercooling your laptop. homebrew style |
