It had nothing to do with PSN, you are correct, but it was effecting users whose consoles have never been connected online also. So it’s nothing to do with it linking back to PSN.

The fundamental issue is that the PS3 internal Hardware clock is set via GMT. There was a bug within that clock which believed that yesterday was the 29th Feb, 2010 (a leap year).

The Operating System clock runs off partly off that clock, and it knew there isn’t a 29th Feb, so it doesn’t know what date to to show and a confliction is caused, that’s why it was dropping back to either 31/12/1999 or 1/1/2000, that is the default date for the PS3.

Trophy games were generally effected, as they obviously check for a valid time and date when they boot, as they assign time and date values when you unlock one, because there were date conflicts, the game fails to run.

By all accounts, non trophy games were working fine, as this is something they don’t need to do.

Totally ruined the French Open for me...and the calendar year Grand Slam! Gah! just so pissed off some random cheated us out of some new Tennis history making, and another possible Rafa-Federer final. Whoever wins Roland Garros '09 has gotta feel RELIEF (that they're not facing Rafa in the final) or REGRET (no-name f#cktard cheated them out of true glory...it's like winning Wimbledon these days without beating Federer...it's just not right!).

Well, I guess Federer's finally due. Djokovic knocked out in 3rd round, now Rafa gone, what else could happen?
Know this: no number 1 seed has won the French Open in 8 years...although Federer's got a good trend in his favour: the number 2 seed has won the French Open the last 4 years.

Ooooooooooo-kay....to my 'friend': don't let the sake get to you. If you must argue your point then do so passionately and with vigor, but DO NOT overstep the bonds of friendship and A) become aggressive and arrogant and B) request a bet with me. I don't bet.

Irregardless of whether I'm right or wrong, you must respect that I've made up my mind (and I don't want to waste time arguing with a person whose sense of time/money expenditure 'rights' and 'wrongs' is in some cases severely fucked up). Add to that the arrogance and lack of understanding of true struggle--these are reasons why I refuse to take the argument further. It is beneath me.

Now, to set the record straight, a number of your ridiculous claims:
-having no kidney means you can drink as much as you want without getting drunk
-you know more than me in anatomy (really! how the fuck do you know exactly how much I know about anatomy?!?!)
-Mazda's premiere sports car (RX-8) is NOT slower than its SUV (CX7). Think about it: bigger and heavier or a car the company calls its flagship model.
-you know what size pants I should be wearing (wrong for two reasons: 1. creepy and 2. I KNOW MY OWN WAISTBAND BETTER THAN YOU! I don't care if you're the 11th-dan-second-coming-grand-god-king-highmaster-pope-vizier-prime-minister of sewing/measuring suits. Go FUCK YOURSELF! YOU DO NOT KNOW MY SIZE BETTER THAN ME. the last 2 weeks at work have been a major kick in the gonads. WTF???!??! Work was pretty sweet and now all of a sudden I'm staying back late and shit? Get the fuck outta here!

I'm performing waaaaay beyond my pay grade and I'm contracted (as in binding legal document agreed to between 2 parties), yes, contracted to 4:30pm only. I understand that if once in a blue moon I gotta get something done, I'm going to have to stay back, but these 6pm finishes are ridiculous, especially since I'm not being renumerated for it! I don't give a shit if you finish regularly later than me. You and I do different jobs--mine finished at 4:30pm, dick.

And another thing, make up your mind before you keep nit-picking my sanity away with 30+ revisions. FUCK, MAN! I'm a nice guy (I think so) but don't abuse the nice-ness! I got a dark streak too, and he's like that black fellow who lays mushroom clouds.

Positive: I'm a gddmn hero at work though...kept my cool, and rose to the challenge (fuck you bitch!).

More on the GVJB staff: All the guys and girls that work there: they're in some kind of hubris--they think they're too cool to serve or something and just act all detached and bored all the time.
