Here's one of them. Personally, not for me. | comprehensive look. For me, there is no decision. I'm a MAC user now, and I'll NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER willingly go back to that piece of sh!t. Heck I haven't even switched to Mac OSX Tiger yet, I love Panther too much to upgrade. Feck you, Microsh!t, you're not fooling me again. I'll never let you extract a cent out of me again. In fact, I think Bill Gates owes EVERY Windows user past, present and future (especially those duped into getting Windoze ME) a big apology and a fat reimbursement for all the time we ever lost struggling against his suffocating "software", if you can call it that. I hope Microsh!t implodes in a fiery ball of virulant spammage brought on by one disgruntled Windoze user too many. Viva Apple Mac forever!

And now, another rant. I recently watched V for Vendetta (pretty good, a little anti-climactic and drawn out but entertaining) and came across this in the IMDB boards. I cut-and-paste because I find the advice highly relevant on a personal level (not for me, I'm a dude, but for my sister and lady friends). Seriously, I hope it gets through to someone eventually because it is a good message.

For all you girls who 'fell in love' with V by susan685 (Mon Nov 6 2006 17:11:46

Okay, I realize how terribly easy it is for filmmakers to get teen girls to "fall in love" with just about any character by having him seem tragic and tortured, yet sensitive and shy and vulnerable. Yeah, yeah.

But look at what V is: a man who didn't learn a thing from his time in prison except how to become exactly like the ones who tortured him. His motive of personal revenge supersedes the political one. He kills, steals for a living, and commits terrorist activities that harm civilians and ACTUALLY TORTURES AND TERRIFIES the woman he claims to love, all in the name of his "cause." She is imprisoned, almost starved, humiliated, mentally broken down, half-drowned, made ill and for what?? His twisted attempt at helping her see our spirit is more important than our flesh? It sickens me to hear any man justify abuse of a woman by saying it was for her own good. (And yes, I have some experience in this matter) It is irrelevant that he makes her breakfast, slow dances with her or sacrifices himself at the end. No matter what his lame justifications are, it does not excuse his behavior all through the movie. You'd think a man who had been hurt so much would not choose to inflict it on others.

Wake up, girls! Real love isn't based on doing the wrong things for the supposed "right" reasons. It isn't about cheesy romantic gestures or ignoring a man's character and actions to prove your love is unconditional. It isn't about seeing how much you can keep forgiving a man who hurts you. It is exactly this kind of reasoning on the part of teen girls that keeps them in abusive relationships with thugs. Ask Britney Spears why she fell in love with K-slime.

Just trying to save some of you years of pain!

and now, my two cents:
Lovers should not come between your family and friends. Even if you decide to stubbornly stick it out for whatever reason, your notion of love may just be desperation to stave off loneliness but in the long run this can only end in tears. Why go through it all? To have loved and lost... don't cut it with me, I mean to let this get in the way of family is losing, and we should cherish the little time we have together. We're here today, and tomorrow might be too late. Why should it be that some random coincidence leads to a stranger dividing you and your family? Your closest allies, the ones who will always have your back, take you back and always watch out for you. Come to your senses.
