⇒ French Open 2011 update 5.5: Federer's post-match

"It always seems to me that Rafa needs to be in a French Open final to make it special, and I got the match I guess I was hoping for."
...
“Beating Novak today was maybe a good birthday gift for him (Rafa) because he lost his four previous matches against Novak,” Federer said of Nadal. “I’m going to play against Nadal, my main rival, in another Grand Slam final. We live for these moments.”
...
“The first set was monstrous, and in the second set we were both tired because the pace was unbelievable.”
...
“What I would like to say, and I said it to him at the net, is that his record, although it’s not the best because other players have done better— today it’s so physical and professional—what he achieved is unbelievable,”
...
Now that's a statement; clearly stamping his authority over Djokovic and letting his ego run his mouth a bit, reminding Rafa he still hasn't beat Djokovic while he just did it. Watch out.
